During the challenging time of Covid-19 pandemic, Workshops and Webinars were conducted online.

1. Social Media Fact check and Safety in Cyberspace

On 12th May 2020, a guest lecture session was arranged for the students to explore and learn more about the Social media fact check and safety in Cyberspace. Mr. Joshy Ravindran, an expert in the Information Technology field was invited to give the speech and discussion. The students from the classes of B.Sc. nursing and GNM actively participated in the session. Webinar began with the basic concept of Cyber Safety and how to protect against cyber bullying like don’t share your identity, update your software, always logout, password safety etc. He focused on Social Media addiction and its symptoms as well as he explained how to avoid mobile phone and internet addiction. He also gave some important internet safety tips. All the students & participants were interactive throughout the session & clarified their doubts about the topics that Mr. Joshy discussed. The session ended with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Raji. R, Asst Professor, KCON.

2. VIRTUAL ONLINE TRAINING PROGRAME : TRAINING SESSION ON CPR AND BLS BEGINNER LEVEL

On behalf of CNE program by Krupanidhi college of nursing, department of fundamentals of Nursing organised an online Training Session On Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Beginner Level on 12th June 2021. Principal Dr. Devi Samuel inaugurated the program. Followed by Asst. Prof. Raji, Asst Professor, Expert and Trainor in CPR and BLS Techniques , conducted the training for the students for the next 2 hours. First year GNM and BSc nursing students participated and obtained clear understanding and knowledge regarding BLS and CPR as beginner level. At the end of the session quiz was also conducted were the students actively participated successfully completed the training.

3. VIRTUAL WEBINAR ON AWARENESS OF RIGHTS AND CHOICES OF REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS DURING PANDEMIC

On behalf of CNE Programme by Krupanidi college of nursing, department of Obsterics and gynaecological nursing organized an online session on Awareness of rights and choices of reproductive health for women and girls during pandemic 2021 on 17.July 2021. Principal Dr.Devi Samuel Inaugurated the programme. Fallowed by Mrs.Anandhitha Ukil unfolded the theme of world population day, then Prof.Umaparvathi given speech about women’s reproductive rights and choices, latest information regarding contraceptive measures by Mrs.Vijayalakshmi. GNM and BSc nursing students participated and obtained knowledge.

4. VIRTUAL WEBINAR ON COVID-19 MEASURES TO CONQUER

The covid -19 pandemic has brought unprecedented challenges to the world.it poses a serious threat to human health and create havoc with the health care system. Nurses being the key Health care members, working on the front line, providing direct care to individual infected. Webinar attempted to share the knowledge on the clinical management of the patients and how to cope with day to day life.

The theme was unfolded by Dr. Devi SAMUEL, Principal. Subsequently the stewardship of covid -19 is handled by Prof. Prabha L is Thomas , vice principal. Hurdles in covid-19 recovery was covered by Ms. Pritha saha, Lecturer. Mrs.Preethi Ramesh deled with Mucor mycosis. Embrace the facts about the vaccine is handled by Ms. Sweta sharma. followed by Mrs.Josini grace covered the navigating covid-19 and role of nurse.

The webinar was started with pretest and post test.All the students  actively participated in the webinar. During the Session  feed back taken  from students.The programe was ended by vote of thanks.

5. VIRTUAL WEBINAR ON INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND TRAFFICKING

Worldwide June 18th holds the tag for awareness on drug abuse and illegal trafficking .

On 10th of July 2021 ,Dept of Mental Health Nursing _ Krupanidhi College Of  Nursing organized and International Webinar on this day  in collaboratation with guest speaker.

A brief and apt welcoming words were shared from the desk of Our beloved Principal Dr.Devi on the current statistics and importance of this day.

Unveiling the theme and welcome speech: by Dr.Sujithra Mathi (HOD dept .of mental health nursing)

Dr. Sujitra unveiled the theme for this year” 'Share Facts On Drugs, Save Lives.”and shared the importance of the drugs menacing the lives,and the how journey from first try to addiction and role of stressors energetically.

Welcoming the Guest of honour: Asoc:professor Jyoti Chetty welcomed virtually the international Guest: Mrs .Jemima Daniel (Ward manager ,Advanced Nurse Pracitioner , Walsall health care NHS trust ,UK).the speaker had a busiest schedule and we owed  her our gratitutde for sharing the informative time with us

Session by Guest speaker.:

Mrs. Jemima Daniel was the resource person.and eminently shared the various forms ,side effects ,contraindications of common drugs used by the youths .light was thrown on ways to deaddict through that.

 Asst prof :liji valedicted the virtual session by thanking the Guest ,Principal madam, Faculties and all students.

Pretest and post test was conducted online for all students and at the end and open doubt clarification and discussion was done between students and Mrs. Jemima.

Sessions were organized by the committee through Microsoft teams and virtual presentations were made and enthusiastically attended by all.

6. VIRTUAL WEBINAR ON PREREQUISITE FOR ARTICLE PUBLICATION IN SCOPUS JOURNALS

A CNE program was conducted on the topic “Prerequisite for article publication in Scopus Journals” under by Prof. Uma Parvathi (HOD, Dept of OBG) on 21/06/21. Various aspects of journal publication was discussed including the types of research paper, types of journal publication and many more. Scopus journal, Scopus index were also discussed including some of the top large publishers. Important and concerning aspects of research study for the publishers like composing the research paper as per the guidelines of the journal, submitting the paper, receiving the letter of acceptance and the transferring of copyrights were explained. It was a 1hour CNE program under the organising chairperson Dr. Devi Samuel (Principal of Krupanidhi College of Nursing

7.VIRTUAL CELEBRATION ON WORLD BREAST FEEDING WEEK 2021

On behalf of CNE Programme by Krupanidi college of nursing, department of Obstetrics and gynaecological nursing and Child health nursing organized an online session on Awareness of Breast feeding from 04 . 08. 2021 to 07.08.2021. The whole week is occupied with different activities everyday . Principal, Dr.Devi Samuel Inaugurated the programme. Fallowed by Speech by Prof. Uma Parvathi (Dept.of OBG) and quiz was conducted about breast feeding by Mrs. Sandya (Lecturer Dept of Child health nursing). All GNM and BSc nursing students participated in poster presentation, Drawing competition, Essay writing and Speech competitions.

8.VIRTUAL WEBINAR ON CREATING HOPE THROUGH ACTION

An awareness programme was organised by the department of Mental Health Nursing on 9th september 2020 i.e. Suicide Prevention Day . Dr. SaiLaxmi Gandhi, Professor and HOD, Department of Nursing, who is also the Nursing consultant in psychiatric Rehablitation Services and Adult psychiatry in NIMHANS, Bangalore was the Resource Person for the webinar. She spoke on the warning signs especially among the students and the risk factors involved. During her talk, she stressed on the methods to deal with the sensitive issues faced by the students and youth. At the end of the session, an interactive session was held between the speaker and the participants.

9.CONTINUING NURSING EDUCATION (CNE) PROGRAM ON “PRONE POSITIONING AND ECMO IN ARDS (COVID-19)”

A CNE on Prone Positioning and ECMO in ARDS(COVID-19) was conducted on 05-10-2021 for 2nd year BSc, 2nd year GNM students and faculty. The program was started at 10 am, the Welcome speech was given by Ma’am Preeti, followed by a prayer song. The first presentation was done by Mrs. Saranya S on the topic “Prone Positioning”. She gave the introduction on Prone positioning and explained its indication, contraindications, steps and nursing care of patients on prone position. The second presentation was given by Ms. Menguphrenuo Mepfhuo on the topic “ECMO in ARDS (COVID-19). She gave the introduction and explained on the types, indication, contraindication, weaning, complications and nursing care of patients on ECMO. Following the presentations a questioning session was held and feedback was collected by the presenters.The program concluded with a vote of thanks given by Ma’am Pritha Saha,

10.Webinar on Diabetes: Empowerment & Self-Management for Lifelong Results

As part of World Diabetes Day, the Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing, Krupanidhi College of Nursing, has conducted the Live Webinar on Diabetes: Empowerment & Self-Management for Lifelong Results on 17/11/21 at 2 pm. First year and Second Nursing students Participated in the webinar. The webinar mainly focused on factors influential on diabetic care and strategies adapted by the health professional in diabetic self-management education. The speaker Professor Sujatha N C , Principal , Sardar College of Nursing, Lucknow, also added the management of root cause of diabetes and the nursing care.
