National Service Scheme

NSS is a scheme sponsored by Government of India, Financed by both center and state, implemented by universities and through the colleges. We have an active NSS unit from the year 2006 .which does welfare activities in the community. Our students are very enthusiastic to take participate in the community welfare services. The activities which we perform under our NSS banner are: Free health checkup's, Morbidity clinic, Diabetic camps, Aids awareness programme, Blood donation camp, Anganwadiclinic , Rally, Shramadhan etc. Our NSS Unit is recognized by RGUHS and the state NSS.


An initiative of Bangalore schools sports foundation, RED RIBBON REVOLUTION, to promote the AIDS awareness and alleviate stigma and discrimination to people living with HIV/AIDS was supported By Krupanidhi college of Nursing. The marathon race covered 5 kilometres area between snehadhaan care centre and Kodathi village. The National service scheme of Krupanidhi college of Nursing actively participated in the social service programme held on November 23,2014.

The NSS wing of Krupanidhi college of Nursing have participated in the blood donation programme organised by Snehadhaan, Bangalore in collaboration with the Rotary and TTK Blood bank on 08-12-14. Screening test was done for all the participants. 40 students of college of Nursing have donated their blood on the same day. They were given certificate for the participation.

On 28/11/2014, II year B.Sc. Nursing , IV year B.Sc. Nursing and III GNM students of Krupanidhi College of Nursing organized a School Health programme at Government School, Boganahalli. The various activities included oral examination of school children, anthropometric measurements and assessing degree of malnutrition. A total of 30 school children belonging to classes from 1st to 5th standard were identified with different health problems and were referred to the health camp which was conducted on 03/12/2014 by Krupanidhi College of Nursing

On 03/12/2014, the Community Health Nursing Department of Krupanidhi College of Nursing had organized a Morbidity clinic (Health Camp) at Boganahalli village, which is located almost 5 kms away from KrupanidhiCollege . The venue was at Government School, Boganahalli. The main organizers of the camp were I year M.Sc. Nursing, IV year B.Sc. Nursing, II year B.Sc. Nursing and III GNM students . The camp was carried out in co-ordination with Sankara Eye Hospital, Marathahalli. The team from Sankara Eye Hospital had carried out free eye checkup and referred 15 people for free cataract surgery in their hospital. Medical checkup was conducted with the availability of Dr. Yogesh, Guest Lecturer ,Krupanidhi College of Nursing. Other services offered were Physiotherapy, lab investigations, Anthropometric measurements wound dressings, Health education and Distribution of medications: A total of 140 villages were benefited from this health camp. Thirty school children who were identified with different health problems during the school health programme which was conducted in the same school on 28/11/2014 also were referred and treatment was provided free of cost. The camp winded up by 2 pm.

Krupanidhi College of Nursing students had participated in a cancer detection programme along with Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology on 23/11/2014 at Huskur Village. Co morbid conditions were also assessed and student had a very good exposure to the cancer detection . At the end of the health camp students were given momento as a note of appreciation .
