VIRTUAL CONFERENCE ON CONFRONT COVID 19 – MENTAL HEALTH CHALLENGES

During this pandemic ,millions of us have experienced a mental health problem or seeing loved one struggle .And we have seen that the support we all need just isn’t out there. For them, for us and for you-we must take this chance to step up the fight for mental health. That means fighting for change, for fairness, for respect and for life -changing support.as part of mental health awareness, here we present strategies to withstand the covid-19mental health challenges through the departmental CNE conducted on31may2021 on 10am-1pm. Dr. Devi Samuel, Principal Opened the remarks and Dr, Sujithra, HOD, Mental Health Nursing Department, unfolded the theme. Various highlights of the conference were:

  • Mental Health Impact of Covid-19 on Students presented by Mrs Jyothi, Assoc. Professor.
  • Mental Health Impact of Covid-19 on adults presented by Mrs Liji, Asst. Professor
  • Mental Health Impact of Covid-19 on Geriatrics presented by Prof. Lisha, HOD, Department of Community Health Nursing.

Nursing students of GNM, Bsc , Msc and faculties of various colleges participated in the conference. The session was ended with post test. 3rd year Bsc and 2nd year GNM students actively participated in the CNE. The participants learned more knowledge regarding the topic.it was the interesting session. prof :Lisha valedicted the virtual session by thanking the Guest ,Principal madam, Faculties and all students.

VIRRTUAL CONFERENCE ON MOTHER AND CHILD RESILENCE AND COPING DURING PANDEMIC.

Department of Obstetrics & gynaecological nursing and Child health nursing of Krupanidhi college of nursing organized an online conference on Mother and child resilience & coping during pandemic (covid-19). On 14.08.2021 at 10am programme was started with a prayer song. Principal Dr. Devi Samuel Inaugurated the programme. Followed by Prof. Uma Parvathi unfolded the theme and Guest speaker Prof. Panchali Pal, Guest speaker, from Kothari Institute of Nursing , Kolkotha, spoke on the impact of covid-19 on breast feeding. Mrs. Anindita Ukil, Lecturer spoke about the impact of Covid 19, Resilience and coping during Pregnancy. Prof. Abhilashini Kudos HOD , Department of Child health Nursing talked on covid 19 preventive measures among children and Adolescents. Followed by Mrs. Vijayalakshmi and Mrs. Sandhya briefed about Myths and facts about covid vaccination and breast feeding during covid 19 respectively. All GNM and BSc nursing students, Faculties of various departments participated actively, pre and post tests were conducted, and they obtained knowledge upon Mother and child resilience & coping during pandemic.
